That is not a leaf but a Satyr Comma butterfly. Part of the Bush foots butterfly family. Named for the mythological woodland deity. Satyrs know the secrets of wine making. I need some of that knowledge!
I'm thrilled to have my first pumpkin forming! No critters are eating the vines any longer and they are loaded with blooms so I just my have a nice patch after all!

Awesome butterfly and great job with the pumpkins! Hope they continue to grow and the bugs continue to stay away! :)

ReplyDeleteGlad to see you blogging again, and about pumpkins! Today is the Saint Anne's Day, when the blueberries are ripe (in my Saguenay homeland at least). It means, in a way, the first day of the beginning of some kind of harvest. For me, this is when summertime is slowly starting to end.
