Here's a few woodland Wildflowers I have blooming now.
Violets in an array of colors. I need to do some research to find which kinds they are. I love the magenta one which I actually bought years ago.
White Shooting Stars
Red Trillium or Toadshade
Wild Geranium or Cranesbill with a hosta
Sorry the pictures aren't great but the mosquitoes are viscous this year like never before.
Lovely flowers
ReplyDeleteThe bottom one is the Confederate violet, Viola sororia priceana. I think the hangy-down one (that's a botanical term!) is a dodecathon but I'm not sure. I don't know the purple ones, though- all purple violas look alike to me!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures my friend ;o) I hope you are having fun gardening! Stay away from those nasty mosquitoes!
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie for the violet info. Hi G and Stacy. Oh I'm not sure what to do about the mosquitoes but wear deep woods off! :)
ReplyDeletewow these are gorgeous pics. I've just sown some wild flower seeds so we shall see what happens, my fingers aren't too green lol! Loving your blog, if you would like to visit me back I'm at http://www.astartemoonblog.com/, blessings, alison xx
